Our Story
Covington was the brainchild of James Covington, a native Angeleno with a lifelong passion for fashion. As a teenager in the 1970s, James fell in love with the rock n’ roll infused styles of the era. He saved up money from his part-time job to splurge on Members Only jackets, leather motorcycle boots, and other rebellious fashions that let him express his individuality.
Years later, James recognized a void in the market – affordable, high-quality basics with an urban twist. Drawing inspiration from his youth, he launched Covington in 2021 as a direct-to-consumer online brand.
From the beginning, we’ve focused on using premium fabrics and flattering silhouettes without the outrageous price tags. Our small but mighty team obsesses over every detail, from the custom-made buttons to the stitching on our jeans. We take pride in creating pieces that capture the carefree confidence of vintage streetwear.
Today, Covington has grown into a leading destination for modern classics with an edge. But our founding values remain the same. We believe self-expression through fashion should be fun, uncomplicated, and accessible to all.
